What if I cannot do a certain pose? The beauty and power of yoga is that it meets you where you are. You should always fit the yoga pose (asana) to your body and not fit your body into the asana.
-
Can pregnant women do yoga?Yoga can be very beneficial during pregnancy, but make sure to let your instructor know you are pregnant. Make sure to avoid twisting, inversions, any abdominal strengthening pose, and lying on your belly. Make sure to drink plenty of water and take bathroom breaks whenever needed.
-
When should I arrive? Please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes prior to the start time to settle in.
-
What should I bring to class?Bring water to stay hydrated, a yoga mat if you have one and a towel. We have mats available for rent if you do not have one. You may want to purchase your own mat for reasons of personal hygiene and regularity of practice.
-
What should I wear to class?Wear what you find comfortable. We recommend wearing clothes that are non-restrictive so you can easily stretch; supportive so all your body parts are in place, and breathable so you can move with ease. Please remove your shoes once you enter the studio.
-
Do I need to be flexible? It is a misconception that you need to be flexible or strong to do yoga. Yoga is much more than being flexible in the body, and we work on many levels including the body, the breath, the mind and the spirit in every class. You will find yourself becoming more flexible and strong as you continue to practice and notice benefits, including less pain and improved posture and balance.
-
What are your COVID protocols? We have increased our cleaning practices and procedures to have a cleaner and safer environment for yoga practice. For the safety and wellbeing of all, we recommend students to be fully-vaccinated and asymptomatic to attend class. Masks are not required to attend class. But, you are always welcome to wear a mask (no questions asked).
